Overview
This extraordinary experience offers a climb to Aragats Mountain which is the highest mountain (4,090m) in Armenia. Aragats was formerly one of the largest volcanoes in the world. The experience includes the discovery of Kari lake.
Itinerary
From Yerevan we will drive to Aragats mountain up to the stunning mountain lake Kari (Stone Lake) located 3,185 m above sea level. Most of its water comes from ice and snow. Here laws of physics are doubted: water here does not flow down but it goes upward.
From Lake Kari we will start hiking. The best time to hike is from June to the end of September.
Aragats Mountain is the highest mountain (4,090m) in Armenia. Aragats was formerly one of the largest volcanoes in the world. The flora and fauna of Aragats are very rich.
The mountain has four peaks, we will climb the southern peak (3,887.8m). The approximate duration of climbing is 4 hours.
There is a possibility of tasting Kash which is one of the tastiest Armenian dishes in a restaurant located near Kari Lake.
With some extra charge, you can also discover Saghmosavank monastery and Amberd fortress enhancing your great experience.
