Experience the beauty of lake Sevan and Sevanavank

Approximate duration: 4-5 hours

Typical Itinerary

Discovering the beauty of Lake Sevan you will fall in love with the largest body of water in Armenia and the Caucasus region. Sevan Lake is also one of the largest freshwater high-altitude (alpine) lakes in Eurasia.

You will also explore the monastery of Sevanavank founded in 874 by Princess Mariam on the island.

Afterwards, you will be suggested to taste fresh fish of Sevan on the board of the lake.

You can also discover the forest of cross-stones in Noratus considered the largest collection of Armenian Khachkars. This is an optional experience and may be included with an additional fee.

The other optional experience provided with an additional fee upon request is the discovery of the church of Hayravank, a beautiful church offering an amazing view of Lake Sevan.

Wish to learn about the Armenian cheesemaking process and traditions? We offer a visit to Mikayelyan Family Farm. The family makes its own milk and turns it into cheeses. This experience consists of tasting different delicious cheese types. This is an optional experience and may be requested with an additional fee.
